USS Buran[]

Detailed Biographies
  • Galmaq (Female Klingon, Chief Medical Officer) — Born and raised on Qo'noS, her parent's abandoned her when she was very young (following the death of her father in battle). She was raised by her grandfather, whose generation was prior to the rise of the Warrior Class. Galmaq was raised to believe that honor wasn't achieved from bloodshed but from being honorable, virtually making her an outcast on her homeworld. During her school years, she developed a fondness of caring to injured animals which were tortured by her classmates, seeing no honor in attacking defenseless creatures. This started her career in medicine, finishing at the top of her class. After serving briefly as a medical officer on Klingon ships, she found she couldn't take the barbarism of her people any longer. She soon became active in Starfleet and is ultimately assigned to the Buran. Despite her expertise on xenobiology and medicine, she's often betrayed as being "brutal" by Earth standards. Examples of this include working on patients while they're awake and aware, or reset a bone manually with a look of "you baby" to her patient.
  • Drola (Female Orion, Communications Officer) — Practically raised since childhood to be an Orion Slave Girl, spending most of her life under the servitude of multiple masters (of various species). She was later purchased by a Federation-based activist group who would purchase slaves in order to free them within Federation territory. Despite her confusion and lack of understanding towards freedom, she relished her new lease at life by serving her most recent "master": the Federation. Trained to pick up new languages during her years in slavery, she used this to become part of Starfleet and the USS Buran. Though having improved over the years, she continues to have bimbo-like personality in many respects and continues to indulgent in... original profession.
  • "Okinoma" (Cogenitor Vissian, Chief Engineer) — Following first contact between Humans and Vissians (as well as the martyring of the self-named Charles), a civil rights movement began across Vissian territory, demanding equality for all genders (including the third). After decades of internal conflict, Vissian cogenitors have gained equality, though sexism continues within society. Okinoma joined Starfleet in hopes of becoming an engineer (following in the footsteps of Charles "Trip" Tucker, from whom the martyr Charles named themselve). He/she is somewhat more masculine in attitude, making me consider him/her something of a "femboy" in many aspects.
Basic Biographies
  • T'Vik (Female Vulcan, ?) — Pretty much a "standard" Vulcan. One possibility I have in mind may be that she's not really a Vulcan but a Romulan (or a Romulan-Vulcan hybrid). A possible backstory is that her Romulan parents relocated to Vulcan to practice the teaching of Surak, virtually eliminating any trace of Romulan they had left. This may still play out within T'Vik's personality in some way.
  • Verjix (Male Denobulan, Commanding Officer) — Captain of the USS Buran. Rather big for a Denobulan, he is often described as the gentle giant. He is rather amused, and very likable.
  • "Snooboos" (Male Kreetassan, ?) — Much like his species, he is highly traditional, punctual, and easily offended. He talks in a low, sly voice (I see him as a combination of Malcolm Reed and Severus Snape).
