|System|| Upsilon Andromedae|
|Planet||Upsilon Andromedae d|
The moon is the homeworld of the Porodaks. Due to the freezing temperatures and the radiation admitted from Upsilon Andromedae d, the porodaks are primarily subterranean. Because of the greater amount of light admitted from the parent star, plant-life have more of a bluish-green color.
Electra is a Mars-sized moon of Upsilon Andromedae d. Similar to the Galilean moons of Jupiter, Electra has a close and elliptic orbit to the planet. This causes one side of the moon to be permanently locked onto the planet, and to have tidal forces which causes the moon to be active. The only disadvantage of this would be that the moon is bombarded with radiation from Upsilon Andromedae d. Despite the moon having an ozone layer and a weak magnetic field, more radiation hits the surface of the moon than Earth receives in a year.
Despite being active, the moon is currently going through an ice age. The polar icecaps are much larger than on Earth, expanding closer to the equator. Despite this, the equatorial region remains an oasis for many species. The highest recorded temperature recorded was about 10 Celsius (50 Fahrenheit). The surface has three distinctive landmasses which are not covered in ice, and one large ocean. In order to circumnavigate the planet by sea, you would need an icebreaker.
